Jardine's mother, on
the far right, stands beside Jardine
dressed as the Wolf of Blind
Darkness, A Wake for the Dead of
Winter, 1982.
Jardine describes
the project, "The audience met at
the Equine Centre, where they were
seated in horse-drawn sleighs. As
they raced across the field to the
forest, they see the Wolf of Blind
Darkness chasing Sunna. Much later,
after a journey through the dark
forest, clutching our 'fear chits,'
we come across the Mother (my
mother) asleep by the fire. The
Agitated Man, who has been leading
us on the journey, convinces us that
the only way we can awaken the
Mother is by burning our fear. We
do, and she wakes up. She invites us
to come in and have cocoa and hear a
story about the seasons."
